Grady Wallace is a Kamloops-born, Edmonton-based artist who uses his digital and mathematical skills
to create show-stopping, larger-than-life artwork.Since 2016, he has been perfecting the art of stencilling with a large range of sizes and materials, which has led to him creating the largest stencil mural in Alberta.
Wallace finds inspiration in wildlife, urban textures, street and pop culture, along with ‘90s culture, which he portrays in a futuristic way. He deconstructs his own images, marrying the digital world with the authenticity of hand cut stencils. Although it’s very time consuming, he favours hand cutting over machines, which simply can’t rival the precision he can get with an exacto knife.
With his artwork, he captures a moment in time, creating a surrealistic idea of what he sees. It twists reality with elements like neon, glass, concrete, metal, and acrylic, creating a feeling of fragility and reflecting the delicacy of the world and our relationships within it.
Grady’s other passion is clothing. He has created his own line of streetwear with his brand Rad Originals, applying his design skills to each piece of clothing he creates. Rad Originals is a manifestation of everything he believes his art to be: Original concepts that are brought to life in a new and unique way.
